Topsoil Mixes 3-Way Topsoil A blend of sandy loam, composted yard waste and native brown dirt. It has been processed through a 5/16" screen, and is suitable for lawns, sod, flower beds and vegetable gardens. (We recommend this for seeding lawns and laying sod). Flower Mix 50/50 mix of groco and 3- way topsoil. Used for flower gardens and container planting. Garden Mix 50/50 mix of mushroom compost and 3-way topsoil. Used for Vegetable gardens and container planting. Bark/Mulches/Chips Fine Bark Fir & Hemlock ground and screened through a 5/8" screen. (1" minus particle size). Medium/Fine Bark Fir & Hemlock ground and screened through a 2 1/2 " screen. (3" minus particle size). Sawdust Ground alder sometimes hemlock or fir. Hog Fuel Processed fir, hemlock, pine & alder chips. Used by farmers as wet area cover. Also used as bank run to prevent erosion. Bark Nuggets 3"-4" cedar chips used as a ground cover in play areas. Cedar retards the growth of vegetation & its also recommended for dog runs to control fleas. Playground Chips 1/2"-1" hardwood chips used as ground cover in play areas. Groco Superb organic soil conditioner providing necessary nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus & potassium adding vigor to undernourished soil. Use as a top dressing in flower beds & around trees. Mushroom Compost Wheat straw, cotton seed hulls, meal, brewers grain, fine bark and gypsum. Material is composted and used to grow mushrooms. It is then sterilized & sold as a product that provides many components needed for good soil conditioning of flower and vegetable gardens. Steerco Composted steer manure & sawdust. Blended well for the same uses as groco. Sand Products Washed Sand This is a washed building sand which has multiple uses where a clean, dirt free sand is desired. This product is approved by Mason County for sand filler systems. SGS This is a screened sand off of our washing and crushing operations, mostly 3/8" minus. 30/50 Sand This is a screened washed sand with less fines than the washed sand. Excellent for lawns after airifying where drainage is a problem with soggy lawns & masonry projects. Reject Sand This is a washed sand that has dirt mixed into it. Good for fill material. Fill Material Pit Run All sand and gravel pits carry this material for use as a back fill. Has dirt, sand & rocks mixed together. Tailings By-product from the screening process of soils & mill scrap. Consists of misc. chunks of rock, dirt & wood. Often used for layering over wet areas or as an inexpensive fill material. Rocks Aggregate & Crushed Broken & crushed rock in a variety of sizes used for pathways & driveways. 5/8 & 3/4 minus are the most popular sizes. (other sizes maybe available) (Gray) Basalt Crushed Broken & crushed rock in several of sizes randing from 3/4 to 4-8 inches. Used for pathways & driveways. Larger sizes are recommended for stabilizing muddy roadways or creating a base.(Black) Drain Rock Rounded & oblong rock. We have 7/8" & 1 1/2" both well suited for drainage. Pea Gravel Smooth rounded rocks usually 1/2" or less in diameter. Ideal for use with plastic drain pipes & in shallow drain ditches. Good for dog runs & in concrete mixtures. River Rock 3" to 10" in size, good for decorative stream beds & landscaping areas needing drainage. Recycled Crushed Concrete Our recycled crushed concrete comes in a few different sizes. This product is crushed and screened on site at our yard on Log Yard Rd. Rockery Rock Granite Rock Round & oblong, varying in size from 1/2" to 5 man rock. Light in color, sometimes with specs of black, brown, or green. Half Man Used for walls under 16" high. Also used for cap rock to top off the wall. One Man Used for walls 16' to 42" high. This is the most popular size. Two Man Used for walls 3 1/2 'up to 6' high. You will need a small bobcat or backhoe to place two man rock. Three Man Used for bulkheads or walls over 6' high. You will need heavy equipment on site to move three man rock. Comes in two shapes: ♦ Placement rock is odd shaped & used for accenting landscapes. ♦ Wall rock is block shaped & is used for wall building. *Be sure to specify which type of rock when placing your order. *Walls over 4' in height MUST be engineered & approved by the county. |
